【Altimeter engine】 Nanoradar released: CAN interface UAV altimeter millimeter-wave radar


In order to better meet different customer needs and better adapt to the complex environment,Nanoradar released CAN interface millimeter-wave radar altimeter NRA24, the new NRA24 supports two interface types, customers can choose before buying. The  Anti-interference abilityamount of CAN protocol radar is better, transmission distance farther.

CAN interface millimeter wave radar parameters

The NRA24 is a terrain-tracking altimeter radar designed for UAVs. The NRA24 uses a 24GHz ISM frequency band to measure changes in height distribution by transmitting FMCW signals. The NRA24 features extremely high immunity to interferences and a maximum accuracy of ± 0.02m. Lightweight design, can penetrate the fog, smoke, dust. It has the characteristics of small size, high degree of integration and sensitive sensing. It can realize all-weather, all-day and all-terrain applications and is widely used in UAV / UAS, helicopters, and airships.

NRA24 sensor CAN communication network interface to follow the ISO11898-2 specification, data transmission more stable, communication speed 500Kb / s. Universal external communication interface for easy integration with host computer or other ADAS modules. URAT design compatible with the interface, the agreement to support customer needs. 

CAN protocol altimeter advantages:
1. the use of short frame structure, the effective number of bytes per frame is 8, the probability of interference is low
2. the transmission distance, the farthest can 10Km, 1Mbps speed communication distance up to 40m
3. using two-wire serial communication, error detection capability, can work in high noise environment
4. Each frame of data has a CRC check and other error detection measures to ensure the high reliability of data transmission, suitable for use in high interference environment;
